Any idea where the red pollen comes from?

[This picture] shows some really cool deep red pollen collected in Southern Indiana, in early March. Any idea where the red pollen comes from? I think the purple flower sticking to the pollen sac may be a good clue. Readers, any ideas? Please use the comment area below. Read more >
