Product Description

Queen candy is used both to feed queens and their attendants while traveling, and as a medium for releasing queens into their new colonies. This queen cage syrup, also known as inverted sugar syrup or nulomoline syrup, is used to make candy for queen cages. It is slow to crystallize, and it retains moisture for longer than most syrups. 1 gallon of syrup.

  • 5 gallon of queen cage syrup
  • Used to make candy for queen cages (see recipe below)
  • Slow to crystallize, and retains moisture for a while
  • Great for placing in queen cages as part of the releasing process

Recipe for Making Queen Cage Candy:

    Ingredients
  • Queen cage syrup (1 part)
  • Powdered sugar (6 parts)

DirectionsPour sugar into a bowl, making a well in the center. Add queen cage syrup into the well and mix with a wooden spoon. As mixture thickens, continue mixing with your hands until you get the proper consistency of soft candy. Candy needs to be tight enough to stay in the first hole of the queen cage that has been dipped in paraffin.

If possible, make candy in a low humidity environment. This will prevent it from becoming too soft to stay in place.
